Tinie Tempah launches his first clothing line

Style Icon- Tinie in his trademark Ray-Bans

Dapperman Tinie Tempah is following in the footsteps of fellow rapper Kanye West to launch his very first clothing line. Teaming with his management company Disturbing London, Tinie has joined forces with urban street wear label MHI to release the self-titled mens and womenswear line ”Disturbing london” which was influenced by London living and aimed to ”put a stamp” on the fashion industry.

Tinie has been seen as a male style icon since his first burst onto the music scene with his number one single ”Pass Out”, he represents contemporary, urban fashion, embracing urban geek-chic with his trademark thick-rimmed Ray-Bans and slim-line blazers. Tinie said about the launch of the Disturbing London line: ”I love clothes and this brand expresses my style of street cool culture mixed with high-end fashion.”

In an interview with the Evening Standard Tinie revealed he didn’t want people to automatically associate his clothing line with his image as a rapper. He said: ”We’re working on our own brand but I really want to stay away from that whole hip hop cliché…I want people to walk into a shop and not immediately think ‘Tinie Tempah’, but think ‘that’s a nice shirt’ or ‘that’s a nice tee’.” He continued to say: ”Basically I’ve tried to make it into a standalone brand like Folk, Casely Hayford or House of Billiam.”

It’s true Tinie’s look is more polished than your average rapper and we think he smashes the typical ”rapper” stereotype with his sleek and stylish smart-casual style, whilst maintaining an urban element with his high-tops and retro-style trainers.

The Disturbing London collection features a wide selection of cool urban essentials and prices range from £25 for a t-shirt, £40-£135 for hoodies and £245-£275 for jackets. The full collection incorporates aviator jackets, crew neck sweats, shirts, vests, and luxury sportswear pieces and all are embellished with the Disturbing London logo- a skull wearing a crown. Fierce!
