Runway Report: Jeremy Scott goes old school with his fall 2012 collection
Jeremy Scott took it back to the 90′s with his disco-themed Fall 2012 collection, inspired by the influential neo-internet culture. The mens and womenswear collection was typical Jeremy Scott, fearless and reckless. Models sashayed down the runway in unconventional rainbow coloured flares, unicorns attached to their front, Batman jumpers and Bart Simpson three pieces.
Among our favourite looks were the male onesies, computer screen-shot prints, bell bottom trousers and an ombre-effect trench-style dress accessorised with a bright pink monkey bag. The models walked to video game sound effects and Japanese language covers of Madonna, according to the LA Times. The girls had nose rings attached to their earrings via gold chains (including some of the boys!) and short Star Trek inspired rainbow-coloured wigs.
The collection didn’t follow all the conventional rules of a ”typical” Ready-to-Wear Fall collection at all. In fact Jeremy smashed through what was expect of him and did the exact opposite, which is exactly why Jeremy Scott is official a ledge.
