Runway Report: Gucci S/S’12
Gucci S/S’12
Celebrating it’s 90th anniversary at Milan Fashion Week, it was all about tailoring at the Gucci S/S’12 show earlier today.
Gucci showed us a range of powerful and tailored looks featuring printed silk shirts tucked into their staple high-waisted navy pencil trousers with gold detailing around the ankle and finished with fitted box jackets. We also saw a range of statement black silk caftans worn over black laser-cut bikinis and two-tone silk summer dresses shown as part of the Spring collection. However, deviating from what we’ve been seeing at both New York and London Fashion Week creative director Frida Giannini used a darker colour pallet incorporating navy blues, emerald greens, burnt oranges as well as juxtaposing black and golds together which is more reminiscent of an A/W collection. Gucci showcased a range of looks including ”dinner at The Ritz” dresses, night out at cocktail bar party dresses and our personal favourite, the powerful but stylish businesswoman woman look.
