A month into 2012 and Rihanna has already racked up an array of shall we say intéressant outfits, ranging from black thongs on beaches in Hawaii to hoodies and jeans in LA. Rihanna being the dangerously fierce female she is means that she wears exactly what she wants, exactly when she wants and lately we’ve noticed a change in her style by adopting a more laid back, casual and relaxed look (see pics below). Last week we saw Rihanna’s latest (and permanent) accessory- the words ”Thug life” tattooed on her knuckles in pink ink (why not?!). Check out some of Rihanna’s most interesting outfits of the year thus far…
For a night out in LA yesterday Rihanna wore a two-piece black Lycra polo neck crop top and matching skirt with body chain. She finished the outfit with Christian Louboutin Pigalle patent pumps, an oversized mens leather bomber (vintage perhaps) and very interestingly an army print trucker hat.
For dinner in LA, Rihanna wore Christian Louboutin’s unique measuring tape sandal with high waisted silk trousers and a plain white tank. Cute shoes but a shame we can’t see the detail on the ankle strap. We’re a fan of the comfortable-looking silk trousers and the cute white tank with gold chain.
While on vacay in Hawaii Rihanna wore this £222 Normal Kamali sheer metallic one-shouldered swimsuit. The high cut on the hips are flattering to her figure and we love the unusualness of the swimsuit as well as the clashing of the gold accessories against the silver of the swimsuit.
Rihanna was spotted in West Hollywood on January 5th on her way to the tattoo parlour wearing a £276 Joseph colour-block mohair-blend sweater with loose fitting boyfriend jeans and Christian Louboutin white patent Pigalle pumps accessorised with a blue bandanna in her hair.
Rihanna was spotted at LAX airport earlier this year working a Céline Paris white logo tee with turned up sleeves, a black Rick Owens maxi skirt and black Alexander Wang leather sandals. Her thick frames and red lips execute this outfit superbly.
For the LA Clippers V Miami Heat game RiRi wore Trapstar London’s Kangaroo hoodie £65 with Prada ankle booties, ripped jeans and an army print snap back hat. Rihanna shows that YES you can wear a hoodie and still look somewhat stylish!
Earlier this year Rihanna stepped out in LA wearing a Pendleton for Opening Ceremony backless Aztec-inspired fitted pencil dress. We love the prints on the dress and that it stops high enough to see the Alexander Wang ankle-cuff sandals. Although this isn’t a look we’re used to seeing Riri wearing it’s still a very fashion-forward one all the same.
Now, technically this was on New Year’s Eve but we thought we’d throw it in anyway. Here, Rihanna rocks the sports luxe trend that we love so much (check out our Sports and The City spread over on The Runway) and wears one of our favourite designers Alexander Wang. She wears both his ”Starter shorts” and his ”Chloe sandals” from his Spring/Summer 2012 collection accessorised with her staple gold jewellery.
