Runway Report: Project Runway- NYFW Day 2

So today we kicked the second day of NYFW at the Project Runway show (closely followed by the Luca Luca show). This was probably the most exciting show i’ve been to so far at fashion week, period. They were filming the show live for the season 9 finale which meant there was a flurry of activity going on throughout the hour-long show.

Cameras on poles were swinging low above our heads filming for the show at every angle imaginable and we were told not to stand up incase we hit our heads (that’s how low they were). Judges, Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia and Michael Kors sat front row at the show alongside singer Corinne Bailey Rae and actress Jennifer Love-Hewitt. The seven finalists of Project Runway showed their final looks with heart-felt speeches at the start of their shows with most dedicating their collections to their families and some such as 26-year-old finalist Laura Kathleen describing her collections as: ”For the everyday woman who has her guard up but lets it down for love.” and Anya Ayoung Chee who took us to the Caribbean with her collection saying: ”I’m inspired by my hometown- Trinidad and my brother who is truly my life inspiration.”
