Kanye West is one of those dapper men that only comes along every so often. Suave, sophisticated (sartorially) and with a menswear closet that I personally would raid, Kanye has established himself as one of the most stylish men in the biz. What we love most about Kanye is that he’s stayed true to his original gentleman-street style from the very start, mixing both urban and high fashion successfully. One day we may see Kanye rocking exclusive Nike high tops, the next he’s wearing one-off custom made Wooten and Stubbs suede moccasins. And that’s the art of having the spectacular swagger that Kanye has, having the ability to wear practically anything while retaining the attitude and unique style to go with it.
We also love (and this is probably the thing that draws us most to Kanye) that he never gives away too much 1. We hardly EVER see him smiling, so don’t ever know what he’s really thinking and 2. He doesn’t do interviews at all (well since late 2010) which only keeps us wanting to know more with Kanye. And that goes for his style too, Kanye is never scared to try out new things, only last year did we still him wearing a leather kilt during his Watch the Throne Tour with Jay Z!
As Kanye would put it, his ”swagger’s on a hundred thousand trillion”, and to an extent yes, Kanye, we agree. Take a look inside Kanye’s wardrobe below.
We love this clean cut look Kanye’s rocking here. Kanye looks suave and sophisticated in this white fitted tuxedo blazer, plain white tee, Balmain blue jeans and Stubbs and Wooten suede moccasins accessorised with cute friendship bracelets. Lovely!
Kanye looked fly last winter in New York City wearing a long fur coat, the controversial leather trouser, a snake and suede mix backpack, Ray Ban sunnies, and kept the outfit casual by finishing it with Nike Air Jordan’s on the feet.
We loved Kanye’s look on Christmas day (2011) where he attended the Lakers Vs Bulls basketball game. Kanye sported the double denim look wearing a Balmain denim shirt with black fitted jeans, the rare Nike Air Yeezy 2 neon coloured high tops and the best accessory- his smile!
Kanye wore this Givenchy leopard print bomber jacket to the Vivienne Westwood fall fashion show last year and although we’re not 100% convinced on Kanye’s clean-saved look here, we are impressed by his confidence to rock a bold leopard print bomber. We love the understated look here with classic blue Balmain jeans and plain suede moccasins. Beautiful execution Kanye.
Here, Kanye wears a Balmain ”Teddy” leather bomber jacket, a Balmain women’s zebra sequin tee alongside his signature leather trousers and Nike Air Jordans.
Kanye breaks up the all black look here with the popular Givenchy rotwiller tee worn with a Givenchy silk bomber jacket. Again Kanye successfully pulls off the leather trouser look and finishes the outfit with black Ann Demeulemeester high tops and dark shades.
Kanye was pictured at the MTV VMA’s with Katy Perry wearing a custom made chambray ombre denim shirt from one of his favourite brands- Maison Martin Margiela, with Balmain jeans and the very rare ”Watermelon” Nike Air Yeezy 2′s. We love the double denim look and the buttoned down shirt showing a little skin. The arm candy’s fab too- only somebody with impeccable style could pull off this look!
Kanye bravely wore Celine silk ”Foulard” shirt from their Spring’11 womenswear collection to perform at the 2011 Coachella music festival. Kanye wore the shirt with his favourite Balmain jeans and heavy gold chains. A statement and very bold outfit Kanye, thumbs up!
For his Watch the Throne tour with Jay Z Kanye wore a Givenchy wool rottweiler print bomber from the Givenchy Fall 2011 collection (retailing at around $3,000) with a Givenchy printed tee underneath, leather kilt and leather trousers. Only somebody like Kanye could pull this look off with his confidence being his best accessory.
During Paris Fashion Week last September, Kanye wore a custom made Balmain red blazer, Givenchy check shirt tied around his waist, Balmain black fitted jeans, finished with a gold chain and Rosary beads and a pair of Jordan 6 Retro trainers. Love the pop of colour here on the blazer, something we’re not used to seeing Kanye wearing.
Kanye was seen last year wearing a (real) Givenchy fur vest. Again Kanye wears this with leather and accessorises with a cute black headband. Fellas take note, be brave with the accessories, headbands arn’t just for females!
We love Kanye’s urban gentleman look here, wearing a wool and cashmere mix Burberry coat with his favourite Nike Air Yeezy 2′s, Kanye manages to retain a sophisticated yet casual look here.
Kanye looks colourful (to say the least) in this 2 piece orange suit while performing his song Runaway. He plays down the bright suit with a simple black v neck tee and adds Cartier bangles to compliment the gold detailing on the suit.
We love Kanye’s sophisticated look here, rocking a simple blue jersey tee, fitted tuxedo blazer with rolled up sleeves, leather trousers, Cartier bangles and Raf Simons high tops. Sartorially simple but deadly!
