Celebrity style file- Millie Mackintosh
22-year-old Millie Mackintosh shot to fame after starring in one of our favourite reality shows- Made in Chelsea. Although Millie is known for being a bit of a drama queen, after throwing a glass of champagne over ex-boyfriend Hugo in the explosive second series finale, we love the reflection of her strong and sassy personality in her outfit choices. Being a make-up artist, Millie is the definition of perfectly preened, and consistently looks stunning. Her style is polished and glamorous and includes a love of tailored hot pants in both denim and leather as well as chic tailored Chanel-esq jackets. Millie shows she understands the fundamentals of fashion; her legs are often on display but she pairs those sexy short skirts with demure shirts and blouses- adding a touch of sophistication. She is fearless with her outfit choices-diverging from floral dresses to leather pants, revealing lace bodies and faux fur …
In an interview with Grazia, Millie described her wardrobe as: “Feminine but never too Barbie.” She went on to say about her highly-desired style: “In the last couple of years, I’ve become more into tailoring and bought jackets with a great cut or a shirt made of great fabric, and I’ve invested in statement jewellery rather than just buying loads of pretty mini-dresses.” Millie is also a big fan of Zara Taylor jewellery, and often wears her gorgeous pieces on Made in Chelsea.
Although Millie has mentioned she is addicted to shopping at Donna Ida as well as designers such as: J Brand, Stella McCartney and Victoria Beckham, she is really a high street girl at heart, with a particular love for Topshop. Millie recently wore a burgundy Topshop dress to InStyle’s 10th Anniversary party, pairing it with a fur stole and over-the-knee boots (which also happens to be our favourite winter accessory!). Millie is a fan of fashion site Net-a-Porter, and says she often uses fashion site Girl Meets Dress to borrow dresses for events: “It’s a perfect set-up because I can borrow a gown, wear it, then send it back. I rented a Missoni maxi dress and wore it for the Morocco episode of the show.”
Millie always looks absolutely gorgeous in our opinion and despite her wishing for another A-lister’s wardrobe: “I’d really like Miranda Kerr’s wardrobe – she has some amazing pieces – and I love Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s boho chic, and Olivia Palermo obviously,” we would love to delve into hers! Here are our pick of Millie’s most stylish looks!
Millie looking red-carpet worthy in J Brand 901 coated leggings in red, teamed with an Equipment blouse and a By Malene Birger ”Wakana” Coat.
On a night out in London on December 7, Millie wears a body-hugging copper Herve Leger ”Neeme” dress. Her chic, curled hairstyle finishes the look.
Showing her love for the high street, Millie wears a Lipsy cobalt bandeau dress, accessorized with a gold glitter clutch and Kurt Geiger wedges at the Pixie Lott for Lipsy launch last month.
Opting for high-street again, in a Topshop burgundy velvet dress with fab fur at the InStyle party.
A smart, classic look. Millie wears a Maje dress and a Zara structured blazer, accessorising with her trusty Kurt Geiger wedges and an oversized nude clutch.
This outfit is our definition of Fabulous, Fearless and Fierce! Millie wears a saucy black lace top from The Kooples with tight leather trousers and Kurt Geiger heels. She even wore this daring top to break up with ex-boyfriend, Hugo on the show, saying: “You’ve got to look hot when you’re breaking up with someone to show them one last time that they’re an idiot. ‘Watch me walk away in my see-through lace shirt. Bye!’”.
Millie looks beautiful in a silk, scarlet floor-length dress by Belulah. Her soft side waves ooze Hollywood glamour and her orange-red lipstick matches perfectly.
Love this feminine thigh-skimming floral frock with delicate jewellery, a statement clutch and coral nails.
