At last! British girl bands rise & take control
2011 has most definitely seen a sudden up rise of fabulous, fearless and fierce British girl bands. Britain has gone from having all but two girl bands (The Saturdays and The Sugababes) to all of a sudden having nearly 10 circulating the scene at the same time. It’s a well known fact that generally the British music scene aren’t so accepting of girl bands … but all that’s about to change with a new breed of power girl band, smashing that glass ceiling and putting their best Giuseppe forward, proving to us that talented British girl bands really do exist. Check out our picks of the ones to watch for 2012 below!

We first came across Parade this summer when we caught them at T4 On The Beach performing their feel good single Louder. Each of the girls have a unique and individual style which we love- a little bit of Brick Lane vintage mixed with Camden’s edgy rockstar style. (left-right) Lauren, Emily, Sian, Bianca and Jessica have already supported Alexandra Burke, Shakira and Ellie Goulding on tour and have a new album coming out in 2012! www.paradeofficial.com
VIDA came onto the scene earlier this year after Oritse Williams from JLS spotted them gigging on the live circuit and decided to take them under his wing and become their manager. The band consists of (left-right) AJ (founding member), V.vee, Jade and Che3kz who are all a fearless bunch of females with powerful vocals and electric personalities (we know- we’ve met them!). We’ve heard their single ”Boy in the corner” and can’t wait for their new material to be released next year. (Don’t miss our interview with VIDA here anunarose.com/videos) www.vidaofficial.com
The music scene has been buzzing about Stooshe this year and ever since we heard their single ”Betty woz gone” we’ve been hooked too! Stooshe are a group of females with a wicked sense of style and a unique sound. We love their retro look- colours, prints, diamonds & chains ANUNAROSE approves! Check them out here www.stooshe.com
Fanfair consists of Roberta, Anara, Aimee and Jessica. Stunning girls with a stunning style, Fanfair has impressed us with their strong acoustic vocals and sophisticated and well-defined sense of style. www.fanfairmusic.com
Soundgirl burst onto the scene with their fun, summer loving, pop single ”Don’t know why” earlier this year after touring with Justin Beiber. The band consists of (left-right) Izzy-B, Olivia and Little Nikki who’s still studying for her GCSE’s! We’re loving their young, fun and energetic sound, definitely one’s to watch for 2012! www.soundgirlofficial.com
